FV-53 Red Light Runner, Performed by April W. (below)

Local police are seeking the public's help at this hour to identify and locate an individual who has been recorded on the area's new hi-tech "red light cams", running at least 524 red lights in the past few months. You may recall that the county authorized funding for the cameras last year, in the hope of reducing the number of accidents at intersections due to drivers running red lights. Since their installation, the county has nabbed over 9,000 red light runners, netting the county coffers about $97,000 in revenue, and reducing accidents in light-controlled intersections by at least 28%. Normally, a computerized camera mounted at each intersection senses a vehicle running the light and snaps several photos of them. A citation is then issued by mail and sent to the address the vehicle's license plate is registered to. Once in awhile, say authorities, the camera fails to properly record the vehicle's license plate, and that driver gets a free pass for that one incident. But traffic police tell us that one vehicle in particular, shown on your screen now, has never been photographed clearly enough to trace. Due to the number of times this same vehicle and driver have been snapped on film, police are now resorting to asking for the public's help in tracking the person down. Police say that, once identified, this individual could be facing prosecution for at least 524 infractions, and at $110 each, that's more than lunch money. If you know the identity or whereabouts of this person, please call 911 immediately. There is a $500 reward. This has been Casey Miles reporting. And now, back to your regularly scheduled programming.
