(below) *Text and Video Copyright © 2007 Channel54News.com™ Local authorities tell us they are closing in on an individual who has amassed a staggering $19,321 in overdue parking fines over the past several months. Law enforcement says the blatant disregard for the law has simply gone too far, and they have no choice but to arrest the suspect. Swat teams have surrounded a residence where the suspect is believed to be holed up just a few blocks from us here at the channel 54 news studio, and are preparing to try to make contact with the person before storming the residence. The suspect, shown now on your screen for the first time, apparently made derogatory comments about the government's right to charge for parking, and has provoked quite a lot of bitterness within the law enforcement community. When asked if they believe the suspect can be taken alive, a police spokesman said, "we haven't decided yet." we'll keep you posted as this story develops. And now, back to our regularly scheduled programming.
