Police are telling us at this hour that they are closing in on this neighborhood's so-called "panty thief", responsible for the pilfering of as many as 650,000 pairs of panties in a 50 mile radius over a period of time. The panties were taken from clotheslines, laundromats, stores and homes; the suspect didn't seem to care if they were clean or used. Apparently a search warrant was served recently on a storage locker rented by the suspect, and authorities were able to retrieve about 3600 pounds of the garments, but police say that's the tip of the iceberg and they still want to find the main booty. This deviate, shown on your screen now, is the person believed responsible, and officials hold little hope for taking the person alive. One spokesman was quoted as saying, "This is one disgusting sumbitch, and he's going down". The mayor's office says it just wants to get the panties back where they belong.
