We often receive inquiries asking for more info
regarding our book binding services. No problem.
We carry (stock) only the linen series, in
black. We stock all sizes of this cover,
always. That means you can always obtain a
quick book (or ten or twenty) from us, without having to wait for us
to order in custom sizes and/or colors.
If you don't like the linen series (see the texture
of the cover below), or if you don't like black, there's still hope,
but only if you need twenty or more books. If you want less than 20,
you're stuck with linen, in black. We won't special-order different
colors/types/textures for orders less than 20 books.

For orders of 20 books and up we can offer the
following cover colors depending on the type of cover desired; the
prices of different cover textures vary; not all textures are
available in all colors; not all textures are available in all
sizes:
Linen, available in portrait or landscape
modes:
Black
Navy Blue
Maroon
Gray
White
Forest Green
Leatherette, available in portrait or
landscape modes:

Padded Leather,

At this time we do
not have acceptable images of covers other than the linen series.
We'll post them when available.
One Caveat:
Not all covers are available in all sizes; unfortunately what's
available from the factory seems to change without much rhyme or
reason, so all of the above are considered special orders
and are subject to availability.
Inquire. Remember that all orders
for any color other than black, and any texture series other than
linen, requires a minimum count of twenty.
Embossing, Foil-Stamping (etc.) and Cover Art:
We're often asked about embossing or foil-stamping. We don't offer
embossing per se; we haven't invested in the machinery because we
see new methods on the near horizon which will render most current
stamping techniques obsolete. Embossing is available from the
factory that makes our covers, and we'll be happy to inquire on your
behalf re pricing, quantities required, etc. The prices vary greatly
depending on artwork submitted, quantity, etc. In short, the whole
thing is a hassle. Instead, we suggest the following solution:
Inkjet Book Cover Solution:
We can offer a particular white hard-cover which is manufactured to
accept color or black and white image transfers, created by laser or
inkjet printers, then transferred to the book cover. This is a
permanent, water-resistant solution which can be used to cover
nearly the entire front cover. These particular covers are available
only to accommodate manuscripts from 1 to 150 sheets.
The covers themselves measure 9 x 11 inches, portrait mode only. We
do not print or apply these transfers -- instead we will include the
sheets (one for each cover ordered), and you may print and apply
your own cover graphics. This is a new technology, and we do not yet
have pricing information. Will post as it becomes available.
Volume Pricing:
We're often asked about volume discounts. Here's what we can (and
can't) do: For any orders up to twenty books, our
posted prices hold without discount.
For orders of twenty and up: First, please understand that while the
factory we deal with produces the best quality hard-covers we can
find, they are often, well, OBTUSE as business people. Please count
on a lead time of at least 2-3 weeks, and that's just
for us to obtain the covers in your choice of color and/or texture.
Our own turn-around time, after we receive the covers, is from one
to perhaps ten days, depending on the quantity of the order.
More about volume pricing:
There's even more hope for the slight-of-pocket-book.
When we bind individual books, we use two complete and
separate methods of binding. We know this sounds weird. Each
method we use is an accepted and reliable mode of binding in and of
itself, used without a problem around the world today. However,
being paranoid retired pilots and deep-sea divers, we don't trust
anything. So we adopted the double-binding method we use
today. If you're a cheapskate, however, we're willing to bind your
books using only one method. Is this one method reliable and secure?
We've never had a page slip using this one method alone. But we were
always afraid it might happen someday,
so we went to the double-binding system, just to be sure. We mention
all this because, if you're truly miserly, you can save some loot by
having us bind using only one method. For instance, our price to
double-bind a single book, or an order up to 20 books, is $24.95
(black, linen texture, etc. etc.). We will always double-bind small
orders, up to 20 books. But on larger orders, by having us
single-bind, you might save as much as $10/book, depending on
several factors which would be discussed at the time you place your
order.
